Weave Hawke’s Bay has officially launched, marking a new era for our organisation and the communities we serve. On Monday, around 80 friends, whānau, funders and partners joined our staff and Board to mark this milestone event outside our Onekawa premises.
As we embraced our new name, we also honoured the past. While the launch event looked to the future, it was a chance to acknowledge our history as Napier Family Centre, which has served us and our community for over 40 years.
The launch event was a chance to celebrate our rebrand and the deeper meaning behind it.
Our CEO Kerry Henderson shared the journey that led to this transformation, emphasising that Weave is more than just a name – it’s a reflection of the relationships and collective impact we make every day.
“This change isn’t just about a name. It’s about who we are and who we serve. Weave represents the strength that comes when individuals, whānau, and communities come together.”
At the event we unveiled our refreshed branding and kaupapa, which centre on inclusivity, empowerment, and wraparound support.
“Our work has always been about weaving together support, care, and opportunity. Under this new name, we reaffirm our commitment to walking alongside whānau in Hawke’s Bay, ensuring they have the strength and resources to thrive,” Kerry said.
What’s next for Weave?
While we might have a new look, we are still the same friendly and professional team, committed to empowering whānau across the region. From counselling and financial mentoring to social work and whānau support, our work continues to evolve to meet the needs of Hawke’s Bay communities.
