We offer two early childhood education options to meet the diverse needs of tamariki and families in Hawkeโ€™s Bay:

Sunny Days

Located in Marewa, Napier, Sunny Days offers centre-based early childhood education for children aged 0-5 years. With a focus on creating a safe, welcoming, and stimulating environment, we help children build a strong sense of identity and belonging, preparing them for the next step in their learning journey. At Weave Hawkeโ€™s Bay, we are passionate about providing high-quality early childhood education and care that empowers children and whฤnau in our community. Our vision is for every child to experience a nurturing and stimulating environment where they can grow, learn, and develop the skills needed to thrive.

Our Early Childhood Education (ECE) services include both home-based and centre-based options to meet the diverse needs of families in Hawkeโ€™s Bay. These services are fully licensed by the Ministry of Education and operate within the framework of Te Whฤriki, New Zealand’s early childhood curriculum. We are committed to ensuring that children from 0 to 5 years old receive the care and education they deserve, with a focus on inclusion, diversity, and cultural responsiveness.

Our Approach to Early Learning

We are dedicated to supporting each childโ€™s individual growth and learning. We offer a holistic approach to early childhood education that values the importance of:

  • Biculturalism: Embracing Te Ao Mฤori and integrating Mฤori culture within our curriculum and practices.
  • Whฤnau involvement: Recognising parents and whฤnau as the first and most important teachers in a childโ€™s life.
  • Cultural inclusivity: Acknowledging and celebrating the different cultures of the families in our care.
  • Nurturing environments: Creating spaces that are safe, secure, and conducive to exploration and learning.

Our educators build meaningful relationships with whฤnau and foster environments where children are encouraged to explore, think, and express themselves with confidence. We are committed to creating an atmosphere of trust and respect, where every child feels valued and empowered to reach their full potential.

The Weave ECE Philosophy

Both Sunny Days and Bright Futures have a shared vision of providing children with the opportunities they need to begin their education on a level playing field, giving them the confidence to succeed in school and beyond. Our values and beliefs are grounded in over 40 years of experience, starting with the formation of Arohanui Playgroup in 1983, which laid the foundation for the services we are proud to offer today.
