At Weave Hawke’s Bay, our Healthy Homes service provides free in-home assessments to help whānau create warmer, drier, healthier homes while identifying opportunities to reduce energy costs.
Our qualified Home Performance Advisors work with households across Hawke’s Bay to identify practical ways to improve the warmth, comfort and energy efficiency of their homes.
Whether you’re concerned about dampness, mould, high power bills or simply want to create a healthier home for your whānau, we’re here to help.
What we offer
Every home is different. Our qualified Home Performance Advisors tailor each assessment to your home and household, helping identify practical ways to improve warmth, comfort and energy efficiency.
During your Healthy Homes assessment you may receive:
- A personalised in-home assessment by a qualified Home Performance Advisor.
- Practical advice to help improve your home’s warmth, comfort, ventilation and energy efficiency, while reducing dampness, condensation and mould.
- A comparison of electricity plans, where appropriate, to help identify opportunities to reduce your power bills.
- Practical home improvements, where suitable, such as LED light bulbs, draught stopping materials, hygrometers and water-saving shower heads.
- Recommendations and referrals for larger home improvements, such as insulation, heating or curtains, where eligible.
- Support to connect with Weave services, Warmer Kiwi Homes and other trusted community organisations where additional support may be beneficial.
You’ll also receive a personalised summary of your assessment and recommendations to help you continue making improvements at home.
Who we support
The Healthy Homes service is available to households throughout Hawke’s Bay who would benefit from support to create warmer, drier, healthier and more energy-efficient homes.
Whether you own your home, rent privately, live in public housing or live in a whānau-owned home, we’d encourage you to get in touch if you think we may be able to help.
How to access support
Our Healthy Homes service is available Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm.
You can request a Healthy Homes assessment by calling 06 843 7280 or 0508 678 910, or by completing the online enquiry form.
Once we receive your enquiry, a member of our team will contact you to discuss your household, answer any questions you may have, and discuss next steps.
Healthy Homes assessments are completed in your home and typically take around two hours.
Individuals, whānau, community organisations, health providers, schools, government agencies and other professionals are all welcome to enquire or refer someone to the service.

The Healthy Homes service is funded by the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) and delivered by Weave Hawke’s Bay in partnership with Sustainable HB and Wairoa Financial Literacy Service.
