Weave Hawke’s Bay: A new name, the same trusted support

.

Today marks an exciting new chapter for our organisation—Napier Family Centre is now Weave Hawke’s Bay.

For over 40 years, we have supported whānau across Hawke’s Bay through life’s challenges, offering financial mentoring, counselling, parenting and whānau support, and early childhood education. As our work has expanded beyond Napier, we recognised the need for a name that truly reflects who we are today and the communities we serve, from Wairoa to Central Hawke’s Bay.

Why Weave?

Our new name reflects the strength of connection—between people, whānau, and communities. Like a woven whāriki, every thread adds strength. Weave represents how we bring together services, partnerships, and community support to empower individuals and whānau.

CEO Kerry Henderson says the change is about ensuring the organisation’s name reflects both its reach and its purpose.

“For many years, we have worked across the wider Hawke’s Bay region, yet our name didn’t always reflect that. More than that, Napier Family Centre no longer captured the full breadth of what we do. Today, we offer so much more than family support—we work alongside individuals, businesses, whānau, and communities in many ways, helping them navigate financial, emotional, and social challenges.”

“Weave Hawke’s Bay reflects the way we work. Every day, our team brings people and services together to create stronger, more resilient communities. This name allows us to tell our story more clearly and to connect with those who need us across the region.”

What’s staying the same?

Although we have a fresh new name and look, we remain committed to supporting individuals, whānau, and communities to thrive.

“Our kaupapa has not changed,” says Kerry. “We are still the same organisation, with the same values and the same commitment to empowering whānau. This new name allows us to look to the future while staying true to the impact we make in Hawke’s Bay each day.”

Introducing Our New Look

Our new logo reflects our interwoven connections, bringing people and services together to create stronger communities. If you look closely, you’ll see a heart within the design—symbolising the aroha and compassion that has always been at the core of our mahi.
